Who We Are
Welcome to Color Explorer (www.colorexplore.top). Color Explorer is a free online color platform maintained by an independent developer, serving designers, front-end and UI developers, product managers, operations staff, and any creator interested in color. We believe that good color matching does not require expensive software or years of experience—a clear, accurate, always-available color library and a handful of handy online tools are enough to help anyone make satisfying color decisions quickly.
What We Offer
Centered on the three steps of looking up, matching, and applying color, Color Explorer offers the following free content and tools:
- RGB Color Chart and Color Code Library: A chart of commonly used colors organized by color family—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink, brown, gray, and black-and-white. Every color provides standard HEX and RGB color codes, along with HSL, HSV, and CMYK parameter conversions, complementary and analogous color schemes, WCAG accessibility contrast, and more.
- Color Schemes: Color combinations organized along four dimensions—season, mood, color temperature, and design style. You can copy the HEX / RGB color codes directly for design and development.
- Classic Color Cards: A curated introduction to classic color systems such as Chinese traditional colors, Japanese traditional colors, plant colors, mineral colors, astronomical colors, Rembrandt colors, Baroque colors, Morandi colors, Miyazaki colors, and Itten subjective colors—bringing the culture and aesthetics behind each color within easy reach.
- Online Color Tools: Browser-based tools such as the color wheel, color converter, image color picker, palette, and gradient generator—ready to use with no installation.
Our Principles
Free, accurate, and easy to use — these are the three guiding principles of Color Explorer. All color data and tools on the site are free to use with no sign-up or login. We keep proofreading color values and family classifications so that every color chart and every color scheme is accurate and reliable. At the same time, we insist on a lightweight page design and a restrained approach to advertising, keeping the site fast to load and smooth to use.
Where the Content Comes From and How It Is Updated
The color values on this site reference public color standards and classic color-culture materials, and have been organized and summarized around real design scenarios; some color cards (such as Chinese traditional colors and Japanese traditional colors) draw on compilations and reinterpretations of traditional cultural texts. We update the color library, add new color schemes, and improve tool features from time to time.
